Exercises include:

1. Long tone exercises with optional ranges for Woodwinds if used with brass mouthpiece buzzing, or to tune different ranges.
2. Lip slur exercises for brass include some with woodwind diatonic and chromatic scales.
3. Mellophones are written a perfect fifth higher than low brass so they can also practice lip slurs without changing valve combinations.
4. Concert keys exercises  in C, F, B^b, E^b, A^b, and D^b include major scale, tonic and dominant arpeggios, and eighth note technique studies that can utilize different articulation patterns.
